Texas Medical Board Rule Regarding Delegation of Cosmetic Procedures

Reign Spa is pleased to announce its compliance with the rules adopted by the Texas Medical Board (§193.17) regarding the delegation of nonsurgical cosmetic procedures for all medical practices in Texas.

Patients will require a consultation by a physician prior to receiving a treatment.  The rule applies to patients scheduled for procedures including Dysport, injectables, and FDA approved laser devices (other than laser hair removal).

When will Reign Spa implement the changes?
We have already implemented the necessary protocols in our practice to comply with the rule change.  If you are scheduled for Dysport, dermal fillers, or laser treatment with any of our providers, a physician will see you first, in person or via telemedicine to issue the order.

If I have an appointment already scheduled, do I need to call to schedule a separate consultation?
No, patients do not need to contact our office about this new rule.  We will ensure that appointments are handled properly.  Efforts will be made to accommodate the consultation during the scheduled time for the procedure, but in some situations a separate visit may be required to ensure that the order is in place prior to the treatment (we will contact you if this is the case).

If I have already had the treatment in the past, do I still need to get an order from the physician?
Yes, the rule applies to all patients, whether new or established.

How often do I need to have a consultation?
Once the physician order is obtained, the patient may be treated by the provider for one year.  Orders must be renewed annually to continue the treatment.

Will there be a charge for the consultation?
Yes, there will be a $20 fee for the consultation.

Which procedures require a consultation by a physician?
Procedures offered at Reign Spa that are affected by the rule include:
·    Injectables – Dysport, Restylane, B12
·    Laser/Devices – ClearLift, IPL, iPixel, Tattoo Removal, Microneedling, Dermaplaning


Cancellation Policy

24- Hour notice is required for any canceled or rescheduled appointment or 50% of service price will be charged. Failure to show without notice will require in full payment of service booked.
